TRUMPF Smart Factory
Located just outside of Chicago, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, the TRUMPF Inc. Smart Factory opened in 2017 to give visitors an opportunity to experience connected manufacturing systems in a real-life environment. The Chicago Smart Factory illustrates many facets of a digitized and connected sheet metal process chain from the initial order for a sheet metal component to its design, manufacture, and delivery. The 50,000 square foot building is filled with the latest automated production technology and the shop floor demonstrates how TRUMPF machinery can be used by small and medium-sized contract manufacturers as well as larger customers for fully automated production. A walkway over the shop floor provides a bird's-eye look at the entire production system and its flow of material and information. And large digital displays in the control center allow visitors to monitor key process indicators from the ongoing production in real time.
