Laser technology plays a crucial role in this shift, driving advancements across the lifecycle of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. This presentation explores cutting-edge laser applications, from battery cell production to sustainable recycling.


First, we highlight laser welding's impact on battery cell production. Laser welding ensures robust connections within battery modules, while quality assurance techniques are pivotal for the safety and performance of EVs. Next, we discuss lasers in producing lightweight, high-strength components, enhancing overall vehicle efficiency. Advances in laser welding of cooling plates will be showcased, demonstrating lasers enabling innovative designs. Furthermore, we will showcase the integration of AI in quality assurance technologies for laser-based production. AI enhances inspection accuracy and reliability, identifying defects and inconsistencies in real-time. The presentation concludes with sustainable recycling methods.
